“Access to improved water and sanitation in the upper Trishuli river basin project” Nuwakot & Rasuwa

Project Background

ACF and Sahara Nepal in partnership initiated the project in two rural municipalities one at Kispang Rural Municipality, Nuwakot and Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipality Rasuwa with the aim to connect water supply networks allied on the right bank of upper Trishuli River Basin. The strategic partnership contract signed between Action Contre la Faim and Sahara Nepal in 2022 for Implantation integrated project in Nepal. Strengthening livelihood and community resilience through the promotion of nutrition sensitive food production of Neglected and Underutilized Crops Species (NUCS) project has been implemented the Udayapur district since December 2022. In this phase, Sahara Nepal selected through EOI NGO selection for implementation Access to improved Water and Sanitation in the Upper Trishuli River Basin project in Aamachodingmo and Kispang Rural Municipality of Rasuwa and Nuwakot district. As per project proposal approval with the VILLD E Paris the first project, implementation month was September 2022. This ongoing Project was designed to address full fill lack of access of safe drinkable water, water supply infrastructures, household connection, water station construction and WSUC ownership as well as proper community awareness with cash contribution of Kispang and Aamachodingmo Rural Municipality. According to the Weather and Manson calendar of Nepal June, July, August, months are rainy and rice cropping session. September and October moths are Dasihan and Thihar festival celebration months of Nepalese Hindu religion people. Therefore, Sahara Nepal was planned project initiation, preparedness and coordination activities from September to December 2022. In September 2022, the program team of Action Contre la Faim and Sahara Nepal visited WASH intervention area of Aamachodingmo and Kispang Rural Municipality.
