Under the AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use) Project, Sahara Nepal is set to distribute 250,000 saplings to farmers across three provinces. This initiative aims to promote “Mango Commercial Farming” and is part of a broader effort to to optimize livelihood option.
Sahara Nepal will collaborate with municipalities and cooperative institutions to ensure the successful implementation of this project. Interested farmers are encouraged to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their agricultural practices.
Qualifications for Farmers Planting Trees:
- Minimum Land Area: The farmer must have a minimum land area of 5 katthas or more.
- Private Land Ownership: The land must be privately owned with a valid land ownership certificate.
- Government-Certified Land: If the land is ailani (unregistered), the farmer must have an official certificate from the Government of Nepal stating that the land is under their ownership.
- Citizenship and Bank Account: The landowner must have a Nepali citizenship certificate and a bank account.
- Plant Supply and Maintenance: The organization will provide the plants free of charge. Afterward, the responsibility for nurturing these plants for a minimum of 10 years will lie with the farmer. Cutting down the trees within this period is prohibited.
